Getting to Casa de Campo is easier than most people expect. There are three airports that work, and we arrange private transfers from all of them. Here's the complete guide to getting there, getting around, and what to know before you go.
Three Airport Options
La Romana International Airport ⭐ Best Option
The closest airport to Casa de Campo — just a 15-minute drive. Direct flights from Miami (MIA) and New York JFK on American Airlines and JetBlue. This is the airport most of our guests use.
Transfer cost: $50-80 private car (we arrange this)
✈️ Direct flights: Miami (2.5 hrs), New York JFK (3.5 hrs)
Santo Domingo Las Américas Airport
The Dominican Republic's main international airport with the most flight options from the US, Canada, and Europe. Good if you can't find a direct flight to LRM. The drive to Casa de Campo is about 90 minutes on a comfortable highway.
Transfer cost: $120-150 private car
✈️ Direct flights: Miami, NYC, Boston, Atlanta, Charlotte, Toronto, Madrid, and more
Punta Cana International Airport
The busiest airport in the DR. About 60 minutes east of Casa de Campo. Works well if you're combining a Punta Cana and Casa de Campo trip, or if flights to PUJ are significantly cheaper.
Transfer cost: $100-130 private car
✈️ Direct flights from most major US and Canadian cities
Our Transfer Recommendation
Fly into La Romana (LRM) if possible — it's the easiest, fastest, and cheapest option. If you can't find a good flight to LRM, Punta Cana (PUJ) is our second choice (shorter drive than SDQ, and tons of flight options).
We arrange private transfers for all our guests. A driver meets you at arrivals with a sign, helps with luggage, and drives you directly to your property. No waiting for shuttles, no shared rides.
We Arrange Your Transfers
Tell us your flight details and we'll have a driver waiting. Private car, A/C, and direct to your villa door.

Casa de Campo is 7,000 acres — you'll need wheels to get around. Here's how:
Golf Carts
The most popular way to get around. You can rent a golf cart through the resort or we can arrange one for you. Most guests use golf carts for everything — getting to the beach, the marina, the golf course, and restaurants.
Resort Shuttles
Free shuttle service runs between major areas of the resort: the marina, Altos de Chavón, the golf courses, and Minitas Beach. Runs on a schedule with frequent stops.
Rental Car
You don't need a rental car inside Casa de Campo, but if you plan to explore outside the resort — nearby towns, sugar cane fields, the Cueva de las Maravillas cave — a car is helpful. We can arrange rentals.
What to Know Before You Go
- Passport required — US, Canadian, and most European citizens don't need a visa for stays under 30 days
- Currency: Dominican Peso (DOP), but US dollars are widely accepted inside Casa de Campo
- Language: Spanish is the official language, but English is spoken everywhere inside the resort
- Tipping: 10-15% at restaurants (some add it automatically), $5-10/day for housekeeping, $20-50 for caddies
- Weather: Tropical year-round (80-90°F). Dry season is November-April. Brief afternoon showers possible May-October
- WiFi: All our properties have high-speed WiFi
- Safety: Casa de Campo is a gated resort with 24/7 security. It's one of the safest places in the Caribbean
Packing Tips
- Sunscreen (high SPF — the Caribbean sun is strong)
- Golf attire if playing (collared shirt, no jeans on the course)
- Smart casual for marina restaurants (no flip-flops at dinner)
- Swimsuit, beach cover-up, hat
- Extra golf balls (the ocean holes at Teeth of the Dog eat them)
- Light layers for evening — it cools down slightly after sunset
